Thanksgiving day
26th November 2009 |
 |
|
|
Thanksgiving Day
is a harvest
festival.
Traditionally,
it is a time to
give thanks for
the harvest and
express
gratitude in
general. It is a
holiday
celebrated with
lot of
enthusiasm in
Canada and the
United States.
While perhaps
religious in
origin,
Thanksgiving is
now primarily
identified as a
secular holiday.
Thanksgiving Day
is a joyous
family festival
celebrated on
the fourth
Thursday of
November in the
United States
and on the
second Monday of
October in
Canada. Feasting
with family and
friends is an
integral and the
most delightful
part of
Thanksgiving Day
celebrations.
This year
Thanksgiving is
on the 26th
November, 2009. |

| Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day, is a traditional North American holiday, which is a form of harvest festival. Though it was not known as Thanksgiving at the time it was celebrated, what we recognize as the first Thanksgiving feast was celebrated in 1621 by the pilgrims who sailed from Plymouth colony along with about 90 Wampanoag Indians.
