"Adriana Lima was born on June 12, 1981 in Salvador, Brazil. She is a well accomplished Brazilian model. Modelling came to her by chance because Adriana hails from a very small town where there is just no talk about glamour. However an agent happened to spot her in a mall even when she was just 13 years old. 

Success followed for her one after the another. In the year 1996 she won the 1996 Ford Supermodel of Brazil Contest. after this she secured the second position in the Ford Supermodel of the World Contest. Path of success was laid down for her. She soon signed with Elite Model Management and like other models she too moved to New York. Her career began taking shape and soon she appeared in Vogue (Italy) in 1997, as well as Vogue (UK), I-D (UK), Marie Claire (Brazil), and Vogue (Italy) in 1998. Adriana has also appeared in Vogue (US, Germany, UK), and Marie Claire (Italy) all in 1999. 

She was equally successful with the catwalks. She walked the ramp with a grace and charm that certainly took the breath away. She walked for Cynthia Rowley, Vera Wang, Christian Lacroix, Emanuel Ungaro, Betsey Johnson, Girls Rule, Richard Tyler, Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Randolph Duke, Ralph Lauren, and Valentino etc..the list never ends. The biggest one however was Victoria's Secret Summer 2000 Swimwear Catalogue (shot in Cannes), where the Brazilian beauty shared the spotlight with a bevy of supermodels such as Heidi Klum and Laetitia Casta. 

She has not only graced the magazine covers but also appeared in a number of advertisements Anna Sui Jeans, Bebe (actress Rose McGowan also poses for the fashion brand name), Gasoline, Mossimo, Victoria's Secret, BCBG, Keds, XOXO, and Guess?. 

On a personal note Adriana is very kind at heart. Along with her modelling schedule she also works with orphans in Brazil.
